Crowd Cow takes pride in our products arriving to your doorstep frozen. Our eco-friendly insulation and the use of dry ice keeps most orders frozen through transit. However, unexpected transit delays or temperature increases in your region may cause partial or full thaw of your products.
The meat we deliver is vacuum sealed and packaged frozen. We always pack enough dry ice in our orders to continue keeping the meat frozen during transit. This dry ice and high quality insulation often helps keep the meat frozen or partially frozen past the estimated delivery date.
Once the order arrives, please open and inspect the packages for thaw. If the meat was still partially frozen or very cold to the touch like you’ve just taken it out of the fridge (roughly 40 degrees Fahrenheit), it is safe to eat per the USDA.
For more information on how to tell if the meat is safe for consumption, review our article on My meat did not arrive frozen.
