Unlike fresh meat that is only safe to eat for a few days in your refrigerator, frozen meat is safe to store frozen indefinitely.
The USDA recommendations for frozen meat indicate that it can remain safe indefinitely with impacting flavor or texture for 6-12 months, after which the quality of the meat may start to decline if it is exposed to air.
